  • Very nice place for a different experience. I really enjoyed the place and its "philosophy" (not only their food is sourced locally and crafted out of the boreal forest, but they also have a social commitment to donate part of their earnings to charities). A very nice experience, discovering new flavours. The prices are a bit higher than other places around, but definitely in line with the quality of the cuisine. Highly recommended !

Came here after seeing all the good reviews. The place was packed. So there was a short wait. The meal came with complementary bread. The bread was so bad. It felt kinda stale. The crust was really chewy and hard to break. The inside was ok though. It was soft. We asked the server to toast it for us so it tasted a little better. We ordered the braised beef cheek with foie gras. The braised beef cheek was ok, it was really soft. The flavour was decent. We didn't really finish it because it wasn't that good. The foie gras was also ok. It was a little undercooked but the taste wasn't bad either. We also ordered the hanger steak. It wasn't good. We ordered medium rare and it was too cooked. There was not much flavour and it was really chewy. Overall, the menus don't really offer much of an option. There's just a few of everything and only one chicken dish. After dining here, I feel like the foods just average. The food didn't really match my tastebuds so it didn't really blow my mind or anything.

  • Grat service &food, one exception is the breadstick everyone is handling it without cleaning their hand or without having gloves on or having a piece of napkin to hold it the bread is basically been pierced by the metal stick and then offered to customers people who are dealing with it are not the chef or the sous-chef it's a regular waitresses bringing it to the tables and the stick is not clean I've told our waitress and she changed it to adjust a regular Bread on on a plate of after this incident my family and I dinner was an amazing experience of beautiful food when it comes to presentation taste and the Festival of Colors

It is a highly fancy place. Perfect for couples, and very small business groups going into deep conversations about... Business. Very dimmed lights and modern looking ambience. Price is above average, you can expect around 60 dollars per seat with wine. I was expecting an amazing dish, but I found myself with a good one. Could have been better. The waiter who served us was great at explaining all we wanted to know and we had lots of fun with him, but I felt he wanted to be over cool. Other than that, great beers, great wine and cool location.

  • Quite simply a foodie and wine lover's heaven!!! Everything was exquisite from our wine, appetizers, entrees, and dessert; most of which we invited our server to surprise us with - something we enjoy doing on occasion. Dining at Chez Boulay is truly a feast for the senses. The presentation of the food is breathtaking and the flavors are so uniquely superb on every level you find yourself saddened that each course must come to an end. We enjoyed salmon tartare, foie gras, scallops and duck as well as the most amazing creme brulee that has ever delighted my palate! The service was fittingly outstanding and we were delighted to witness a single diner being treated with as much care and attention as all other larger groups or couples. This was, without exaggeration one of our most memorable dining experiences in all of our world travels. We would never make a trip to Quebec City again without visiting Chez Boulay.
